FAQ Section Generator for Your Website

An FAQ section for your product, service or landing page, built from the questions customers really ask and answered only from facts you supply.

Context to provide

Paste your product page, service description or landing page, or give River the link, and add any questions customers ask by email, phone or chat. River writes an FAQ section of eight to twelve questions with short, direct answers you can publish. Every answer comes from the facts you gave it. When a question matters but your information does not answer it, such as a cancellation policy you never mentioned, River flags the gap rather than inventing a policy you would then have to honour.

Most FAQ generators write plausible questions and plausible answers about a business they know nothing about. That is how a website ends up promising free returns or a guarantee nobody agreed to. This works the other way round. Questions are chosen from what customers actually ask and the hesitations buyers in your category usually have, and each answer quotes your own prices, policies and details. Anything River could not confirm from your material is listed separately, so you can fill it in before publishing.

It is for small businesses, online shops, software teams and agencies adding an FAQ to a product page, pricing page or booking page, and for anyone whose inbox keeps answering the same five questions. Use it when you launch a page, change a policy, or notice support asking the same thing every week. If you want answers aimed at the questions Google shows for a search term instead, the People Also Ask answer writer starts from live search results.

What makes an FAQ section worth having

A good FAQ removes the reasons people hesitate before buying or booking. Those reasons are usually practical: price and what it includes, how long something takes, what happens if it goes wrong, and whether it suits their situation. The best source for them is your own inbox. Questions customers already ask are the ones other visitors are silently wondering about. Questions you wish they asked, like why your product is great, belong in the main page copy instead, where the homepage value proposition writer can back them with proof.

Answer first, then explain. Take an illustrative mobile dog groomer. Weak: We understand every dog is different and we pride ourselves on care. Strong: Yes. We book nervous dogs into the first slot of the day, when the van is quiet, and you can stay nearby. The strong answer gives a direct yes, a concrete practice and a reassurance the customer can check. Keep most answers to two or three sentences, and link to a full policy page when one exists.

Do not add an FAQ just for search results. Since August 2023, Google has shown FAQ rich results only for well-known, authoritative government and health websites, so for most businesses the expandable FAQ boxes in search results are gone. An FAQ still earns its place by answering customers on the page, and clear question and answer text is easy for search engines and AI assistants to quote. Write it for the reader first.

How it works

  1. Share your page

Paste the page text or a link, and add any questions customers already ask you.

  2. River picks the questions

It chooses the questions that stop people buying and checks which ones your facts answer.

  3. Get your FAQ

Grouped questions with short answers ready to publish, plus a list of gaps to fill.

  4. Fill the gaps

Answer the flagged questions in chat and River adds them to the section in your voice.

What you get

  • Eight to twelve questions chosen from real customer hesitations, grouped by topic in a sensible order
  • Direct answers of two or three sentences, each built only from facts you supplied
  • A list of gaps where a question needs a policy or detail you have not given
  • Wording that matches your page's voice, whether that is friendly, formal or plain
  • Questions that belong in your main page copy instead, flagged with where to move them
  • Suggestions for which answers should link to a full policy or pricing page

Common questions

How many questions should an FAQ section have?

Enough to cover the real reasons people hesitate, which for most product or service pages is somewhere between six and twelve. Past that, visitors stop scanning and the important answers get buried. If you have more, split them by topic, or move detailed policy questions onto their own page and link to it from a short answer.

Will adding an FAQ get me rich results in Google?

Probably not. Since August 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health websites. An FAQ still helps visitors decide, can reduce repeat support questions, and gives search engines and AI assistants clear answers to quote. River writes the section for people, not for a search feature most sites can no longer get.

Will it make up policies or prices I have not mentioned?

No. Every answer is built from the page, link or notes you provide. If an important question needs a fact you have not given, such as your refund window or delivery area, River lists it under gaps with a suggested question to answer. Publishing an invented policy can commit you to it, so nothing is filled in by guesswork.

Where should the FAQ go on my page?

Usually near the bottom of a product, pricing or booking page, just above or below the final call to action, where people look for reassurance before committing. A standalone FAQ page works for broad questions about your business. Put the single most important answer, often price or what is included, into the main copy as well.

Can it use my support emails or chat logs?

Yes, and they make the best source. Paste a handful of real customer emails or chat messages, or attach an export. River picks out the repeated questions and the worries behind them, and writes answers from your page's facts. Remove customers' personal details before pasting if you would rather not share them. Objections raised on sales calls fit better in the sales objection handling template.

Can I get the FAQ formatted for my website builder?

Yes. The section comes as plain questions and answers that paste straight into the FAQ or accordion block in Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow or WordPress. If your developer wants structured data added to the page as well, ask in the chat and River can prepare it for them.
