Adoption Check
Before the First Call Review
Every rep's calls scored against the framework, split by whether they ever attended a live session.
| Rep | |
|---|---|
| Attended live session? | |
| Problem framing used | |
| Proof point correct |
A blended score with no attendance split cannot tell a scheduling gap from a real coaching problem.
Every sales one-pager template on page one follows the same structure, headline, pain bullets, solution sentence, proof block, CTA ladder, ready to fill in and hand to reps. None of them checks what happens after the enablement session ends, even though a benchmarking report across 71 sales organizations found high performers nearly twice as likely to run post-training activities, 79% against 46%. Denholm Systems, a fictional freight-visibility vendor, rolled out such a card and talk track, then pulled 24 real calls three weeks later. Blended adoption of the approved problem framing came back at 66.7%.
The blended number is the wrong read. Split by whether a rep actually attended the live enablement session, the six who did are adopting the framing at 88.9%. The two reps hired in the three weeks after the session, who received only the PDF, are at 0% on every one of their six calls. Adoption Check joins the call review to Enablement Session Outline's attendance record before scoring anything, so a scheduling gap and a real coaching problem never get blended into one misleading percentage.
Feedback Log then records what each gap actually was: two reps who need a session booked, one rep whose drift is real coaching signal, and one call citing a stale proof point from a deck that should have been retired. Build Message Card from the messaging framework it should already be drawing claims from, and pull the proof point straight from whichever variant a message test actually cleared, so the card never ships a number nobody re-checked.
What's in the pack
One-Page Message Card
The four facts that have to survive every rewording: the problem in the buyer's language, the one-sentence solution, the current proof point, and the one objection line held in reserve.
Talk Track
The sequence those four facts land in, built around when a proof point reads as rehearsed versus when it reads as an answer to a question the prospect just asked.
Discovery Questions
Four questions, not six, chosen because this pack's own worked quarter found adoption dropping fastest on whichever question landed last, not on any particular question's content.
Enablement Session Outline
The live session's agenda and, critically, who actually attended it, since Adoption Check checks attendance before it scores anything as drift.
Adoption Check
Every reviewed call scored against the framework and split by attendance cohort, so a scheduling gap in two new hires never gets blended into a trained team's real number.
Feedback Log
What each adoption gap actually was, the root cause once attendance and stale materials are ruled out, and the specific fix. Route any objection surfacing repeatedly across these same calls into the objection library instead of logging it here as a one-off.
How to use it
- 1
Send Message Card and Talk Track
Or take it blank and build Message Card and Talk Track from your own messaging framework, then send who is on the team.
- 2
Record who attended the session
Enablement Session Outline's attendance list is the join key Adoption Check needs before scoring a single call as drift instead of a scheduling gap.
- 3
Send call transcripts a few weeks out
River scores each one against the framework and splits the results by attendance cohort automatically, rather than one blended team score.
- 4
Read Feedback Log, not just the average
Feedback Log names what each gap actually was and the specific fix, since the blended average alone would have pointed at the wrong problem entirely.
Frequently asked questions
Is this template free, and what format are the downloaded files?
Free, and the download is not cut down. The zip holds all six files, four documents in Word and two sheets in CSV, no signup and no card required. Edit with AI is the optional half: send River your own Message Card, Talk Track and call transcripts, and it scores your team in place of the worked example. Every pack sits in the template library.
What does Edit with AI actually do?
It installs this pack as a private Space and asks for your messaging materials plus your enablement session's attendance list. Once call transcripts arrive, it scores each one against the framework, splits the result by attendance cohort, and writes every gap it finds into Feedback Log with a proposed fix rather than a single blended percentage.
Why check attendance before scoring a rep's calls?
Because a rep who never attended a live session has not adopted the framework yet, and scoring their calls as drift blames material they were only ever emailed once. On this pack's own worked quarter, doing that would have pointed a rewrite at a card two thirds of the team was already using at 88.9% adoption.
How soon after enablement should the first call review happen?
Three weeks worked for this pack's own worked example, long enough for reps to have taken several calls since the session, short enough that a real gap is still cheap to fix. Review sooner if the messaging changed recently, since a lower score right after a change is expected, not failure.
What if a rep attended and still isn't adopting the framework?
That is real coaching signal, not a framework problem. This pack's own worked quarter has exactly one case: a rep who attended fully but still dropped to 33 to 67% adoption. Feedback Log routes that rep to shadowed calls and a follow-up review instead of a card rewrite nobody else needed.
Does this replace the messaging framework or the talk track itself?
No. The messaging framework it draws claims from and the talk track's underlying positioning are written elsewhere. This pack starts once both exist, turns them into the one-page card reps actually carry, and then checks whether real calls show it landing.
Find out whether sales is actually saying what marketing wrote
Send Message Card, Talk Track and a batch of recent call transcripts. River scores adoption against the framework and splits the result by who was actually trained.
